Full Song Lyrics
1946 on a mission under Admiral Byrd
we flew the George One above the coldest continent on earth
We got caught inside a blizzard and the plane came crashing down
there were 6 who survived while three of us were heaven bound
It took 13 days before the 6 survivors were saved
So they buried our bodies in a cold and a lonely shallow grave
When the rescuers plane came lookin’ they found a message on our wing that read
Lopez, Henderson,Williams Dead
We have not lost our faith in the word of our nation
That where-ever you fall we will bring you home
even if means diggin through ice and the snow
Our families have waited to see us remembered
to be honoured and laid to rest in their view
Isn’t that the least that a grateful nation can do
for the dead of the George One crew
Now through all this time
We’ve drifted deep and further outta mind
And so we pray the day arrives
That we rest in soil among our dignified
Till then we lie in state, unfinished
Yearning for those who’d care to know
Lopez, Henderson, Williams are home
