Description
In support of the 2000 Tall Ships Festival in Halifax Sons of Maxwell recorded Sailor’s Story, a collection of nothing but popular songs of the sea including Barrett’s Privateers and other favourites. The initial CD made use of a new technology which allowed CD’s to be die-cut into shapes, rather than simply being round. The idea seemed good at first, and so Sailor’s Story was cut into the shape of a ship, but computers began spinning discs faster than normal players of the time and cd players in cars made for frustrating experiences for owners of these type of CD’s. Today Sailors Story has lost it’s shape and is back to being round but the recording is a mainstay in gift stores and tourist shops around Atlantic Canada.

Torbin Harding –
Love this album. Great production, great songs and the vocal harmony reminds me of the Everly Brothers. This music makes me want to visit Nova Scotia.
Sincerely,
Torbin Harding
